GENETICS
Recent advancements in forensics, medical research, and ancient DNA techniques have introduced innovative methods that can be readily applied to enhance the collection and analysis of non-invasive genetic samples in wildlife research. Instead of relying solely on invasive or lethal methods such as blood and tissue sampling, researchers are nowadays able to extract DNA from diverse sources, including faeces, urine, hair, feathers, saliva, eggshells, mucus, and even spider webs.
