The motivation behind the creation of this website originated from my personal experience as an ecologist and wildlife geneticist. Regrettably, during my doctoral studies, I resorted to invasive and lethal research methods because I was unaware of the existence of suitable non-invasive alternatives. It was only later that I realized I was not alone: many wildlife researchers are still not aware of the 3Rs principles¹ and receive inadequate training in animal welfare and ethics^{2, 3}, leaving them ill-equipped to navigate the terrain of responsible animal research. To help address this issue, I have been dedicating my evenings and weekends to building this website. The content draws upon my previous work^{4, 5} and is supplemented with hundreds of studies that serve as practical examples of the successful implementation of the 3Rs principles.
