ECOTOXICOLOGY
Wildlife often face exposure to a range of contaminants resulting from industrial and agricultural practices, potentially posing risks to their health. Traditionally, assessing the concentration of heavy metals and pollutants has relied on tissue samples, requiring sedation or lethal sampling. By examining inert tissues like fur, or analyzing excretions such as urine and feces, we can gather equivalent information regarding the presence of toxic metals, non-metals, and metalloids without sacrificing the animal or resorting to invasive procedures.
